Role Overview
We are looking for an HR Specialist for a leading Mining company who will be responsible for providing comprehensive HR operational and employee support site operations. The role supports recruitment, employee relations, HR administration, workforce coordination, compliance, performance management, and HR governance activities while partnering closely with site leadership and employees.
The position is designed to support the transition of the HR function from a primarily transactional role into a stronger operational HR support and business partnering function, contributing to improved HR processes, workforce effectiveness, compliance, and employee engagement across site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- ✓Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
- ✓HR Diploma or equivalent certification preferred
- ✓Minimum 3–5 years’ HR experience, preferably within mining, construction, industrial, or remote site operations
- ✓Experience in recruitment, employee relations, HR operations, and workforce coordination
- ✓Site-based role within a mining operational environment
- ✓Rotation and remote site conditions may apply
- ✓Flexibility to support operational requirements when required
Requirements
- ✓Recruitment Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for site roles across departments
- ✓Screen and shortlist CVs based on operational and technical needs
- ✓Conduct HR interviews and coordinate with Hiring Managers and department heads
- ✓Manage onboarding, inductions, mobilization, and site access requirements
- ✓Follow up on employment documents, medicals, clearances, and onboarding compliance
- ✓Coordinate travel, accommodation, and mobilization for new hires when required
- ✓Maintain recruitment trackers and employee databases
- ✓Serve as a key HR contact for employees and managers
- ✓Support disciplinary cases, investigations, grievances, and employee relations matters
- ✓Prepare investigation reports and supporting documentation
- ✓Provide guidance on HR policies and procedures
- ✓Support employee engagement and communication initiatives
- ✓Manage contracts, renewals, HR letters, and employee documentation
- ✓Maintain accurate employee records and HR files
- ✓Coordinate attendance, leave tracking, rosters, and payroll inputs
- ✓Handle employee requests and ensure timely HR support
- ✓Manage medical reports, sick leave, and file administration
- ✓Support HR reporting, trackers, and SharePoint updates
- ✓Coordinate mid-year and annual performance reviews
- ✓Support managers with review administration and follow-up
- ✓Assist with employee development and talent initiatives
- ✓Promote structured HR processes across operations
- ✓Ensure compliance with labour laws, company policies, and client requirements
- ✓Support audits, inspections, and workforce compliance activities
- ✓Maintain HR governance, documentation, and process controls
- ✓Monitor contract renewals and document validity
- ✓Build strong relationships with management and employees
- ✓Attend operational meetings to support workforce coordination
- ✓Assist with workforce planning and manpower coordination
- ✓Support workforce stability and operational continuity
- ✓Coordinate accommodation planning and room allocation
- ✓Support accommodation contracts, vendors, and employee facilities
- ✓Liaise with Camp Administration on mobilization and accommodation matters
- ✓Ensure compliance with HSE policies and regulations
- ✓Promote safe working practices across operations
